Loggator is a modern Docker log aggregator that combines powerful search capabilities with AI-assisted log analysis. Built with developer experience in mind, it makes log management and troubleshooting easier than ever.

Loggator collects logs from your Docker containers, indexes them for lightning-fast search, and provides an AI assistant that helps you analyze and understand your logs using natural language.

Think of it as having a smart assistant that:

Managing logs in containerized environments is challenging:

  1. Collection: Loggator connects to your Docker socket and streams logs in real-time

Loggator only monitors containers you explicitly label:

Loggator captures both output streams:

  • stdout: Normal application output (blue in UI)
  • stderr: Error output (red in UI)

Loggator consists of three main components:

Minimum:

  • CPU: 1 core
  • RAM: 512 MB (1 GB with logs)
  • Disk: 1 GB + log storage

Recommended:

  • CPU: 2 cores
  • RAM: 2 GB
  • Disk: SSD with 10+ GB
  • ✅ Handles thousands of logs/minute
  • ✅ Millions of logs in index
  • ⚠️ Single-instance only (no clustering)

Loggator requires read-only access to Docker socket:

This allows:

This does NOT allow:

  • ❌ Starting/stopping containers
  • ❌ Creating/deleting containers
  • ❌ Modifying container configuration

Only labeled containers are accessible:

  • Prevents access to sensitive containers
  • Supports multi-tenant setups
  • Explicit opt-in model

When using AI features:

  • Log data is sent to OpenRouter/AI provider
  • Only logs matching your query are sent
  • Review provider’s data policy
  • Consider using self-hosted LLMs for sensitive data
